BS Apps LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”), the developer of Body Stats, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Body Stats mobile application.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide Directly

Body Stats allows you to input and track various body measurements including weight, height, body fat percentage, and other fitness metrics. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.

HealthKit Integration

With your explicit permission, Body Stats can read from and write to Apple’s HealthKit to:

  • Import existing health measurements to provide a complete picture of your fitness data
  • Export your body measurements to HealthKit so you can access them across other health apps

This integration is entirely optional. The app functions fully without HealthKit access.

User Profile Information

You can optionally provide basic profile information such as sex (male/female) to improve the accuracy of body composition calculations. This information is stored locally on your device.

How We Use Your Information

Your health and measurement data is used exclusively for:

  • Calculating health metrics like BMI, body fat percentage, and body composition
  • Displaying your measurement history and progress tracking
  • Providing personalized insights based on your data
  • Syncing with HealthKit (only if you grant permission)

We do not:

  • Transmit your health data to external servers
  • Share your information with third parties
  • Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • Collect usage analytics or tracking data

Data Storage and Security

All your health measurements and personal data are stored locally on your device using iOS’s secure data storage mechanisms. Your data never leaves your device except when:

  • You explicitly choose to sync with HealthKit
  • You manually back up your device through iTunes or iCloud (handled by Apple’s secure backup system)

HealthKit Data Handling

When you grant HealthKit permissions:

  • Read Permission: We access only the specific health data types relevant to body measurements
  • Write Permission: We write only the measurements you’ve logged in Body Stats
  • Data Control: You maintain full control and can revoke these permissions at any time through iOS Settings

HealthKit data is governed by Apple’s strict privacy policies and security measures.

Data Retention

Your measurement data remains on your device until you:

  • Manually delete specific measurements within the app
  • Delete the entire app from your device
  • Reset your device without a backup

We do not maintain copies of your data on external servers, so deletion from your device is permanent unless you have an iOS backup.

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your stored measurements within the app
  • Modify: Edit or update any measurement at any time
  • Delete: Remove individual measurements or clear all data
  • Export: Share your data with HealthKit (optional)
  • Portability: Your data remains accessible as long as the app is installed

Third-Party Services

Body Stats does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external integration is Apple’s HealthKit, which requires your explicit permission and is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.

Children’s Privacy

Body Stats is designed for general use and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires users to manually input their own measurements, making it suitable for supervised use by minors with parental guidance.

Policy Changes

We will update this privacy policy if our data practices change. Any updates will be included with app updates through the App Store. Material changes will be prominently disclosed in the app’s update notes.
